What is Potatoes in Pink?

What is 'Potatoes In Pink'? This is where I will post photos, and possibly sell, jewelry that I make. For years now, I have been interested in making jewelry. A few years ago, I bought some bracelets at the Raspberry Days Craft Fair at Bear Lake, Utah. They were made of gemstones, crystals, metal, glass, and other types of beads. The beauty of their creation caught my eye!

When I was in high school, a bead store opened up in the local mall and a friend and I would go after school to see what we could make next. I still have a couple of those pieces. My favorite is a necklace made out of wood beads in bright colors. We would make earrings, pendents, and bracelets.

Why 'Potatoes In Pink'? Over these past fews years, I stop and look at the bead section every time I enter a Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics store. I also browse my favorite bead website, Fire Mountain Gems. One of the things I learned, is that pearls come in different shapes and sizes. There are button, rice and 'potato' shaped pearls. Some of my favorite beads are crystals and pearls. I have always loved pearls. They come in so many colors! My favorite color of pearl is 'pink'. Well, pink is my all time favorite color.

This is how I came up with 'Potatoes in Pink'. I will use pearls in many pieces I make. I will also frequently use crystals. My family will tell you that crystal is also a favorite of mine. When I lived in Germany, I obtained many crystal pieces. I really like the Swarovski silver crystal. It is beautiful as the light catches it and sparkles. You could say that I love things that sparkle!

Please be patient as I develop and grow in my skills. Be sure to check back in the future!
